Crypto Twitter: No-coiners Are Dumb
Twitter, full of all sorts of opinions. Opinions I used to get from these two. Due to faults in their logic and behaviour, both have either blocked or been blocked.
Daniel was blocked because he was very good at turning an argument in his favor by using logical fallacies and whataboutism. Far too often did I have to redirect the conversation because he would employ some logical banger that would derail the topic completely, employing red herrings which I had to constantly remind him where not important to the topic we where engaged in. In the end I got tired of him arguing opinions or context in things I did not say, by purposefully twisting the meaning of what i would write. The sad part was I did agree with some of his critiques of the Crypto/ web3 world and he would always interact with posts but I couldn't have someone purposefully twist my argument all the time, without annoying the shit out of me. For that he was blocked. I've also come to realize this article got me blocked too. I guess he was using a sock puppet to check-in on me and my day to day critiques of web3.
Secondly the emotional Talos, an adjective he did not like me using but you could see the fiery passion In his tweets, especially the language used when he did not like what I had to say. He often took that as ad-hominim, when I would ask him why he was having an emotional response. It was never an attempt at attacking his character, though he would often perceive it that way and fire back with his own attacks, I suspect without much thought. I didn't mind Talos originally but he's what you'd describe as a debate nerd. He has a constant need to debate crypto topics over Twitter spaces, usually with a small group of those who agree with him. As time has gone on I have found Talos to be very closed to critical thought and passive aggressive. His unassuming approach sucks you in but once his specious reasoning and use of whataboutism doesn't convert you, he can get very heated very fast. This is when objective fact turns to personal attacks. I suspect I was in a rare and small group of no-coiners, as he once dubbed me, who have successfully conversed with him and added to his follow list.
I suspect because I was in that small group, he was now exposed to anti crypto tweets, something I'm certain he doesn't consistently see on his following feed and after one too many critical tweets, I was accused of misinformation, a lack of knowledge (though ironically he did mention how his goal was to educate no-coiners) and as you can see "fitting the narrative" whatever that means. While Talos had a short fuse for opposing view points he was very knowledgeable on the technology. A point I now realize is because he is that debate nerd I painted him as, while his knowledge is there, his weaponizing of this knowledge is the strategy he and many other pro crypto bro's use to justify thier gains, especially when the morality and ethics of the Crypto industry comes into question. If you don't understand blockchain, how could you be morally against something. That's the strategy Talos and his cronies like to use.
Talos did teach me something I had no idea about but when it came to accusing crypto as a Ponzi like, zero sum casino and a financial system leveraged by criminals he took great offense to that and appeared to take it personally. This is when i got the block. I made sure to bloxk him too, cause he was quote tweeting me maliciously and if you are going to quote my words, atleast unblock me. By blocking him too, I cut that avenue off. Sorry Talos.
This brings up a point I'd like to explore later. Those who are invested into the crypto ecosystem and have been successful, do not take criticism well, so instead of explaining why Bitcoin, Ethereum or whatever crypto is the trend at that moment is better than banks and money. You usually end up getting these accusations of ignorance, having an agenda or attacked for not liking something they do.
If Ethereum or Bitcoin is the future of finance you guys really have to do better, too bad the protocol is completely flawed and introduces new problems finance just doesn't have to worry about. If you think I'm wrong, please go ahead and construct your argument but you will have to explain the benefits of crypto instead of just rattling off what is broken with our current system of money.
